１０月１２日（月）横浜カントリー＆アスレチッククラブにて、第一回横浜クリケットブラストカップが開催されました。

南関東６チームに加え、東関東から千葉モンスターズが招待され、７チームが優勝杯をかけて戦いました。来年は、東関東でも初のクリケットブラスト開催が期待されています。

東関東は来年に向けて幸先の良いスタートを切ったといえるでしょう。千葉モンスターズは、全勝で決勝戦に進み、決勝戦ではブリティッシュ・ライオンズに勝利しました。由紀子サーゲイト・コーチ、モンスターズのみなさん、優勝おめでとうございます！

今大会で最多得点を獲得したのは石井 利士選手でした。４試合合計で１００ラン以上をたたき出し、一度もアウトになりませんでした。未来のスーパースターです！

Junior Cricket arrived in Yokohama on Monday 12th October with the first ever Cricket Blast Cup taking place at Yokohama Country & Athletic Club.

Seven teams were competing for the trophy, six from within the South Kanto area and one, the Chiba Monstars, invited from East Kanto where Cricket Blast hopes to launch next year.

The signs for East Kanto are certainly positive as the Monstars were the only team to go through the day unbeaten, defeating the British Lions in the final. Congratulations to Yukiko Thurgate and the Monstars!

The top run scorer for the day was Rihito Ishii, who scored more than 100 runs in four matches and he also never got out – a super star for the future for sure!

The Japan Cricket Association would like to thank all the teams and coaches who came on the day and helped to make it a success. 50 children took part in the competition and all seemed to have a great time.
